Upcoming Classes, Workshops and Off-Site Trainings
Scentinel Nose Work Dog Training offers three types of trainings: Off-Site Trainings, Workshops, and Regular Weekly Classes (on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings). See below for class types, dates and times of these classes.
Scentinel Nose Work Dog Training also offers Virtual Nose Work Training. “Virtual Training” works well for many people. For more information on the Virtual Nose Work Training that I offer, please visit my other website, “Virtual Working Dog Center” (www.virtualworkingdogcenter.com).
“TRY-OUT K9 NOSE WORK” WORKSHOPS
On occasion, I offer 1 hour “Try-Out K9 Nose Work®” Workshops. These 1 hour Workshops are designed to introduce dog owners to the sport of K9 Nose Work® and to demonstrate the initial training process. Currently, there are no such Workshops scheduled but will be scheduled if requested.

“BUILDING HUNTING DURATION” Two 2-Hour Workshops Saturday, May 14, 2022
*Info: Whether you are competing at the Elite Level or just starting out in NW1, it is important that you build duration in your dog’s willingness to hunt. In order to do that, you need to develop the proper “Hunting Mindset” in your dog. In this Workshop, we will learn some of the ways to strengthen the “Hunting Mindset” in your dog.
*All dogs registering need to be independently hunting for birch, anise and clove odor. Space is limited.

“REAL WORLD EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR SEARCHING” Two 2-Hour Workshops
Saturday, July 23, 2022
*Info: This is a rarely used training location with a barn, patio and adjacent lawns in which to search. Focus will be on Exterior Searches with Interior Searches in the barn leading to many olfactory challenges! Again, if you have a Trial in your future, this will be an opportunity to expose your dog to real world search environments, work competitive hides and get constructive coaching comments for you and for your dog.

“GOING TO SOURCE” One 2-Hour Workshop Saturday, November 12, 2022
*Info: In Nose Work, dogs are taught to “go to source” and the handler needs to be able identify exactly where the “source” is located if asked by a judge at a NW1 Trial. If you cannot immediately pinpoint based on your dog’s behavior, you will not pass that element. So, “going to source” is an important component to this sport. In this Workshop, we will explore the different ways that you can help your dog locate “source” with pin point precision!

“CLEARING AND FINISHING ROOMS” One 2-Hour Workshop Saturday, November 12, 2022
*Info: One of the biggest challenges in competing at the NW3 level is knowing when your dog has found all the hides that have been placed (or not!) in a search area. In this Workshop, we will explore the different ways you can tell whether your dog has found all of the hides in a search area and how to make sure our dogs keep hunting even when there is no odor to encounter.

REGULARLY WEEKLY CLASSES
I offer weekly classes at Gemini Training Center in Littleton, MA, In Stride Pet Dog Training Center, Fitchburg, MA, and The Ark in Harvard, MA. Space in each class is limited to six-seven dogs per six one-hour weekly group sessions. All dogs must be able to walk on a leash and come when called.
